Hope for Families and Fundraising

Updated: Nov 15

Featuring Emilio Nares Foundation

Elsa Morales–Roth started in her new position as executive director of the Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF) with a wealth of opportunities in front of her. Top of the list? Increasing revenue and raising community awareness of the nonprofit’s impact on low-income families as they navigate their child‘s journey with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Inspired by Morales–Roth’s dynamism and the story of Emilio, an SVP team came alongside ENF to lay a durable foundation for future fundraising efforts.

The team including Lisa Davidson (Lead), and Partners Ellen Kane and Dave Meader listened as Morales-Roth and other long-time leaders at ENF shared their hopes for the organization’s future, including expanded operations powered by sustainable funding sources. Using a competitor analysis framework, SVP Partners led the nonprofit in an exercise to analyze how similar nonprofits are sourcing revenue.

The team also audited ENF’s existing CRM system to identify gaps and roadblocks in its donor engagement pipeline, recommending an improved data structure and other enhancements to support fund development efforts.

Key to building ENF’s revenue development plan was the onboarding of a new Director of Development. SVP Partners supported the nonprofit throughout the hiring process and participated in several interviews alongside leadership, resulting in the hiring of an accomplished, well-connected leader in the San Diego community.

SVP looks forward to continuing our long-term support of ENF in a follow-on consulting project in Spring 2025. SVP Partners will return to facilitate a strategic planning process now that the nonprofit has clarity on funding opportunities and a team in place to execute its strategy. Hope abounds for this nonprofit and the families it uplifts!
