Featuring Boys & Girls Club of Northwest San Diego
When two impactful organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito and Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside join forces, it’s more than just a merger—it’s a commitment to greater impact. With guidance from SVP Partners Tom Boyd (Lead), Kamal Mistry, and Joyce Ross, this collaboration has paved the way for the newly formed Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego, streamlining services and creating new opportunities to better serve North County.
Strategic Guidance
The SVP team refined the organization's communication plans, ensuring clear messaging to stakeholders and supported leadership in crafting an “elevator pitch” to highlight the merger’s benefits. Their strategic insights helped set the stage for success.
Unified Vision
To support cultural integration, SVP reviewed CEO Marianeke Vandervort's and Foundation President Jodi Diamond’s detailed plans for discussions and cross-Club meetings to foster a shared vision and unity among their respective teams. Their efforts laid a strong foundation for collaboration.
Governance Structures
The merger introduced two boards: Operations (programming) and Foundation (fundraising). SVP reviewed and refined board charters, advised on committee structures, and connected the Clubs with a model nonprofit for inspiration.
A Trusted Partner
“The SVP team became a sounding board for us, said CEO Marianeke Vandervort. "It was always nice if we veered off track to be able to talk through what we had going on real time. Their experience balanced us and helped us through some challenging times."
Looking Ahead
Now unified, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego is ready to expand its impact and better serve the community. This successful merger showcases the power of strategic guidance and collaboration.
