PEGGY MAHER

Peggy Maher has deep experience in general management, marketing, digital experience, and business/product development. Maher spent 25 years at American Express in various capacities, including as the SVP and general manager of the flagship product line, head of product development, head of the rewards program, and lead on all aspects of marketing. After American Express, Maher served as the Chief Marketing Officer for the Barclays U.S. cards business for four years. Following Barclays, she spent the next few years at Guardian Insurance, building an all-digital direct-to-consumer startup business and becoming its CEO. Most recently, Maher served as VP of Business Development for a FinTech startup.

Maher served on the board of the Battery Conservancy, a New York City non-profit dedicated to the revitalization and development of the 25-acre park at the tip of Manhattan to create a welcoming environment for tourists embarking on the Statue of Liberty ferry, Financial District workers, and residents. She also served for many years on the Finance Committee of St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich Village, managing parish and school finances as well as developing strategic plans to secure the future of the parish community.

Maher earned her BA in Business from the University of Michigan with a concentration in Accounting and Computer Science. She has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance.

Maher recently moved to the San Diego area after spending more than 35 years in New York City. She takes pride in and looks forward to visits with her three grown children in Chicago, Lexington, KY, and Salt Lake City. In her free time, Maher enjoys hiking, traveling, discovering local cuisine, and a spirited game of tennis.
