RENEE ZAU

Renee Zau is a California native who moved to San Diego in 1990 to attend UCSD, earning a BS in Applied Sciences: Bioengineering in 1995.

Zau began her career as a scientist and data coordinator in biotech, transitioned to IT for a web startup, then dove hands-on into business starting in 2000, including becoming a multi-unit franchisee of two franchises, corporate mentor, franchise co-op President and master franchisee.

Through her franchise experience with giving back to the community, Zau wanted an easier way for businesses to systematically provide in-kind support to schools and nonprofits for fundraising benefit and co-founded social enterprise web platform DonationMatch in 2010. Improving the process and ROI of giving back, often leading to companies increasing donations for mutual benefit, is what Renee finds rewarding about her role as CEO.
